Land
Land is an mobile application concept that helps you find new virtual land as well as manage your current properties. Usable with worlds like Decentraland, Earth 2, and Somnium Space, land is your new virtual real estate agent.
When addressing this somewhat speculative project I had to consider the common interfaces of management applications today as well as how they might change in the future. At the moment a lot of the frameworks for virtual worlds are separate however, by using the Land app as a hub the closed systems of each of these projects could be bridged through a familiar medium that allows users to share, communicate, and learn about virtual life.
Brand
Historically virtual themes and productions tend to communicate through the use of vivid lights on a dark background. The Matrix and its famous green and black color scheme is one of the most famous identity designs to communicate the digital world. Other examples of colors present in virtual worlds are the neon circuitry colors from Tron, the purple and blues in Ready Player One, and even the abundance of blues in Avatar.
These historic color choices influence the greens and blues in the color-palette, however shades of brown and even the name "Land" references the soil. This juxtaposition attempts to present the idea of virtual participation in a more organic and less intimidating way. Building on this organic aim, a lot of the visual elements are inspired by natural features such as rivers and farmland.
